What factors are involved when creating an Oscar winning film? Is it the budget, the director, the actors, or behind the scenes? In the journey to answering these questions two data sets from Kaggle.com were merged to create the tables below which contains movies from 1961-2015.
*Note* Winners column "True" = Oscar Winner, "False" = Oscar Nominee, "Blank" = Not Nominated (there for not a Oscar Winner)

  • In the "Winners" tab search for your favorite movie, creative artist, or by the year.
  • The "Money" tab tells the Oscar tale through budget and profit with sortable columns.
  • As curiosity was creeping in many questions are answered in the "Visualize" tab.
