"Life lets you learn to love."
That's what Grandma says.
But my life is hard.
I had to eat pancakes with strawberries because Mom didn't have any blueberries.
At recess I wanted to play tag but my friends wanted to play lava monster instead.
At riding lessons my teacher kept telling me I was doing it wrong.
At bedtime, Mom took away my toys because I didn't want to put them away.
The next day Mom dropped me off at Grandma's house.
Grandma showed me her life as a little girl.
She ate plain oatmeal every day for breakfast. Without berries or syrup or anything!
There was no school for her to go to. Instead she had to cook and clean and help all day!
The only riding she did was in her imagination.
And her toys were all homemade.
On the way home I thought about Grandma's life.
How could she be happy when her life was so hard?
The next day we had oatmeal for breakfast.
With butter and berries and syrup. I loved it!
At school I fell down and got hurt.
But I got to go home and play games with Mom. I loved it!
At riding lessons the teacher wouldn't let me ride.
But she let me take care of the animals. I loved it!
At home my favorite toy got ruined.
But Mom got me a pet of my very own. I loved it!
Maybe Grandma was right.Life lets you learn to love!
