At the end of the day, the decision we made for Paleo Treats was to elevate the vision of Paleo desserts to the next level. Folks, it's been a long time coming, but we're in the home stretch of bringing out a new paleo dessert! Let the dessert defrost for around 15-20 minutes before serving it (otherwise it’ll be too hard to bite into). Let me know what you think – I love this one (one of the healthiest Paleo desserts, apart from perhaps the Paleo jello). I have experimented with incorporating more fat into my diet in the past and have come to these same conclusions every time.

The diet, in spite of the good things it brought into my life, was still, inherently, unbalanced due to the lack of healthful proteins and fats, and over several years' time that unbalance showed itself in the form of thinning hair and nails, a slight decline in energy and occasional days of fatigue.
I am realizing more than ever that a balanced diet, which incorporates all three macronutrients (proteins, fats and healthy carbs in the form of fresh fruit and occasional starchy vegetables) is the correct path for those of us who just don't thrive on extreme diets and who don't fit comfortably in any of the current diet camps (too much fruit for strict low-carb and too many animal products for the raw and vegan camps). For most of us, eating a diet free of grains, legumes, pasteurized dairy, refined sugar, junk food, processed food, bread and pasta, and choosing to focus, instead, on fresh fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds and high quality animal products means GREATLY improved health. My speculation is that my diet was becoming (for my body) unbalanced by eating more fat than it needed or craved, and that by cutting down on fat and upping fruit, that balance righted itself. If your diet meets all of these characteristics, then let me tell ya, you are way ahead of the game.

Sometimes you're going to need more fats, sometimes more protein, sometimes more healthy carbs (if you're a paleo eater, those carbs will always be from fruits and veggies).
This is where diet becomes highly individual and what you need to be eating to really feel your best will unfold over time through your own process of experimentation. Those prepackaged processed foods that the SAD diet revolves around are, to me, what is tasteless.
