Living off campus taught me eating healthy on a tight student budget and schedule is tricky. The items on the reduce-rack may not look perfect but they’re still edible, healthy and in some cases even tastier because they’ve fully ripened.
It’s why in my new cup of 15-Minute Money Saving Meals for Students I did the difficult work of assembling the recipes into a 3-week meal plan that minimizes the cost and time required to prepare all the meals. Higher learning can be stressful, but eating healthy doesn’t have to be part of that stress or expensive. No one wants to gain those Freshman Fifteen (every year of college) В so I’ve decided to come up with a few helpful tips and ideas to help you easily stay healthy throughout your college years.
So it may take a while to get used to the new, healthier you lifestyle, but you won’t regret it once you start seeing results. Last week I met with a family friend who is a college student heading back to college next week.


We spoke at length about how to eat healthier and how to put together easy meal plans for the week. As college students, your lives are busy and full but don’t neglect your health because of it. It’s still worth the effort to eat right more often to improve fitness and your state of mind. I think it’s such a good idea to teach kids how to cook simple healthy meals before they leave home.


What I will be doing is cycling more meatless meals through my weekly meal plans this year. The tricky part is coming up with recipesВ and planning those meals so they won’t break the bank or significantly impact your time. It’s amazing how seeing the amount of calories in your favorite food can change your mind when you are trying to be a healthier you. Plan some better time management so you can get some shut eye so you can actually focus on that test.
