Math Pen Pals: Letter Writing as a Means of Promoting Mathematical Thinking
Description
Math pen pals are students who exchange letters about mathematical tasks to share their thinking and learn how to give and receive constructive feedback about mathematics. In this session, we will share letter-writing tasks and procedures we have used with preservice K-8 teachers, and talk about adapting these projects for use with K-8 students.
