Reconsidering Students’ Assets in Mathematics: A Spatial Reasoning Approach for Young Children

Description

Our teacher-researcher team found that a focus on spatial reasoning in mathematics allows young children to access complex mathematics and causes a shift in how we view student strengths. This session will explore spatial reasoning's importance and how it can provide a playful, engaging approach to mathematics learning for children ages 3 to 8.
