Black Girl (Math) Magic: Multilevel Narratives of Success

Description

Is it possible to disrupt negative mathematics experiences in urban settings? This session examines the narratives of three tiers of African American females who participated in an afterschool mathematics program. The collaborative nature of the program presents the collective impact of building culture, confidence, content knowledge, and community.
