Teachers are expected to present students with real-world scenarios and ask them to model these scenarios using mathematics. Unfortunately, some of the most commonly used examples for introducing quadratics can lead to student misconceptions. Participants will have an opportunity to explore these misconceptions and discuss better alternatives.
