The Joy of Number Talks
Description
Since our 2016 NCTM plenary, Joy: The Zeroth Mathematical Practice, we have continued to explore joyful experiences in mathematics teaching and learning. In this session we look at ways number talks offer equitable opportunities for children to participate in mathematics and why those equitable structures provide a foundation for joyful experience.
