Using Shared Reading to Promote Math-Language Proficiency in Pre-K Students: An Exploratory Study

Description

Many students struggle with the language of math. To communicate mathematically, children must learn terminology that allows them to quantify, compare, and describe objects and ideas in a precise and technical manner. We explored using math-focused children's literature as one way to introduce math terminology to prekindergarten children.
