Is Accuracy Enough? Moving from "Check Your Work" to Authentic Reasoning
Description
None of the CCSSM standards ask students to "check their work." Instead, students must determine the reasonableness of an answer. What does that mean for when determining reasonableness should happen? And how? This session will explore the instructional implications of what it means for students to reason before, during, and after solving a problem.
