The collection of art from the 19th and 20th century include American and modern European works of art, as well as contemporary art, folk art, glass, and photography. Works by local artists such as Elijah Pierce, Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson, and George Bellows, and photos from The Photo League can all be seen at the Columbus Museum of Art.
You wont find the stark white cubes like other contemporary galleries,as the walls are awashed with color of works of art in a salon style of presentations.

"Summer Art Workshops at the Columbus Museum of Art provide playful and creative opportunities for students entering Preschool through 8th grade. Each workshop includes lively gallery games, dramatic and imaginative exercises, a variety of art materials, and unique art projects. CMA offers workshops specifically for home school families. Each month features two opportunities to explore a topic inspired by a big idea. The same workshop is offered Tuesday and Wednesday, once a month (October to May), from 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM, for homeschool students ages six to 13. The Columbus Museum of Art is in downtown Columbus, Ohio. It was started as the Columbus Gallery of Fine Arts in 1878. The first art museum to successfully register its charter in the the state.
