The NetApp Cloud Control service provides secure backup and recovery of Microsoft Office 365 data.

Getting started with a free trial of Cloud Control

To get started with a free trial of Cloud Control, you must do the following:

  1. If you do not have a Microsoft Office 365 test account, sign up for a free trial account.

  2. Sign up for Cloud Control using your Microsoft Office 365 account or your NetApp SSO account.

Signing up for a Microsoft Office 365 free trial account

With a free 30-day trial of Microsoft Office 365 for Business, you can discover the latest features of Microsoft Office 365 and NetApp® Cloud Control.

  1. Go to this site to start your trial subscription.

  2. Under Enterprise Plan Trials, click Office 365 Enterprise E3 – 25 users.

  3. Click Next.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the sign-up process.

  5. Download and install Microsoft Office 365.
    You can add up to 25 users to your free trial.

Signing up for a free trial of Cloud Control

  1. Go to the Cloud Control for Office 365 free-trial URL.
    http://www.netapp.com/us/products/cloud-storage/cloud-control-backup-saas.aspx

  2. Click 30-Day Free Trial.

  3. Enter the requested registration information.
    After you submit the form, you will receive and email containing your free-trial activation code.

Signing up with a Microsoft Office 365 service account

  1. Enter the Cloud Control URL into your web browser.

  2. Click Sign up at the bottom of the landing page.

  3. Accept the End-User License Agreement.

  4. Click Sign Up with Office 365.

  5. Enter the email address and password for your Microsoft Office 365 test or trial account and then click Sign in.
    A list of the permissions requested by Cloud Control is displayed.

  6. Click Accept.

  7. Enter the requested user information.
    The activation code you received in email is required.

  8. Click Sign up.
    Your user name and a list of permissions given to Cloud Control is displayed.

  9. Click Next.
    A list of the available Microsoft Office 365 services is displayed.

  10. Select the Microsoft Office 365 services that you want to activate.

  11. Click Next.

  12. Select Free Trial for the subscription type.

  13. Click Next.

  14. Select your backup storage option.
    You can use storage provided by Cloud Control or the Bring Your Own Storage (BYOS) option.

    1. If you are using storage provided by Cloud Control:

      1. Click Cloud Control Provided Storage.

      2. Click Next.

      3. Review your configuration, and then click Save.

    2. If you are using the BYOS option:

      1. Click Bring Your Own Storage (BYOS).

      2. Click your BYOS option.

      3. Enter the information necessary to connect to your BYOS option.

      4. Click Test Connection.

      5. Click Next.

      6. Review your configuration, and then click Save.

You are ready to start using your Cloud Control for Office 365 free-trial. Refer to the Cloud Control Office 365 user guide for more information.

Signing up with a NetApp SSO account

  1. Enter the Cloud Control URL into your web browser.

  2. Click Sign up at the bottom of the landing page.

  3. Accept the End-User License Agreement.

  4. Click Sign Up with NetApp SSO.

  5. Enter your NetApp SSO and password and click LOGIN.

  6. Enter the requested user information and click Sign Up.

  7. Click the Services icon.

  8. Click the Microsoft Office 365 icon to select the SaaS service.

  9. Click Add Micrsoft Office 365 Account.

  10. Enter the email address and password for your Microsoft Office 365 test or trial account and then click Sign in.
    A list of the permissions requested by Cloud Control is displayed.

  11. Click Accept.

  12. Click Next.
    A list of the available Microsoft Office 365 services is displayed.

  13. Select the Microsoft Office 365 services that you want to activate.

  14. Click Next.

  15. Select Free Trial for the subscription type.

  16. Click Next.

  17. Select your backup storage option.
    You can use storage provided by Cloud Control or the Bring Your Own Storage (BYOS) option.

    1. If you are using storage provided by Cloud Control:

      1. Click Cloud Control Provided Storage.

      2. Click Next.

      3. Review your configuration, and then click Save.

    2. If you are using the BYOS option:

      1. Click Bring Your Own Storage (BYOS).

      2. Click your BYOS option.

      3. Enter the information necessary to connect to your BYOS option.

      4. Click Test Connection.

      5. Click Next.

      6. Review your configuration, and then click Save.

You are ready to start using your Cloud Control for Office 365 free-trial. Refer to the Cloud Control Office 365 user guide for more information.
