Cyan's Prolog

Many of Cyan's fans know that the Manhole was Cyan's first game.

But this five floppy diskette version of the Manhole predates Cyan. It was first made back when Rand Miller had a computer consulting business called Prolog.

The Millers distributed it themselves, mainly at a HyperCard tradeshow called HyperExpo. They also had a single floppy diskette version called the Fire Hydrant, which only contained one of the areas (the fire hydrant, as you might have guessed from the title) that were available in the Manhole.

While at HyperExpo, someone from Activision saw the Manhole, which led to Activision becoming the Millers' first publisher soon after. The Millers formed a new company which they called Cyan when they signed on with Activision.
