By grabbing (holding down the button) the map at where the tower is, a line will appear and start sweeping around the island. When the line turns to a different color, it is over one of the marker switches. Try to stop the line (release the button) when it is over one of the marker switches. Now go up into the tower (by going behind the bookcase) and see if there is anything new.
