Since Indiana enacted its charter school law in 2001, roughly one-third of the over 90 brick-and-mortar or blended-learning charter schools in Indianapolis have closed. The majority of charter schools have opened within Indianapolis Public Schools borders, which are shaded below.

An individual "school" is considered as such if it has its own unique school identification number from the state. Multiple schools that share a number are considered one school. Grades exclude prekindergarten and reflect grades as of 2023-24 or the school's last year of operation.
