Home / Get Free Access Hey Vic, thanks for sharing – dry brushing does great things for the appearance of the skin as well just through improving circulation to the area and exfoliating away dead skin cells, so you don’t need to have cellulite to see the benefits!
So I was skeptical, but my sister-in-law insisted this works great in exfoliating skin. I'm a guy, but in Southern California, the Santa Ana winds really mess with my skin. So I tried these brushes and wow - they work great, my skin feels smooth and healthy, and it does get rid of the dead skin well. I don't know about the other health benefits, but this was totally worth it for the exfoliating properties.
If dry brushing isn’t all that it is claimed to be, why do people do it so much? Some of it can be attributed toward the placebo effect at work—if you believe something is going to work, you begin to feel like it is, even though in reality, it may not be doing anything at all. The placebo effect is often given a bad name, but it has been the backbone of many alternative medicine treatments. As long as it isn’t doing you any harm, how bad can it be if it is making you feel better? The mind is a powerful thing, and the placebo effect is capable of duping it into feeling the benefits even if there are none. A second reason why dry brushing may remain so popular is because when it comes down to it, it is just a massage. And massages feel great. It is the foundation upon which the multi-million dollar spa industry is based on.
Digital Scales vegan It seems that dry brushing has been used for centuries by Scandinavians and Russians. More than 30 years ago, a Finnish doctor by the name of Paavo Airola prescribed this technique for his patients to detoxify, exfoliate and stimulate the skin. (2)
There’s little scientific evidence to support the benefits of dry brushing. For most people, however, there’s little risk. If you’re interested in dry brushing, you can purchase a brush and try it at home.

Starting at your feet, brush upward toward your heart. Concentrate on areas with a lot of cellulite, like your thighs and buttocks. Brush your arms from your hands to your shoulders. Brush your stomach in a clockwise circular motion and your arms in an upward motion. All brushing movements should be made towards your heart to encourage the return of blood and lymphatic flow.
3. When brushing, start with the bottom of your feet and work your way up to your neck. I’d avoid the genitals, face and any other sensitive areas. Vogue

On the average person, the skin covers a total area of about 20 square feet. Your skin is far more valuable than you may realize, as this large organ is made up of nerves that send messages to the brain as you go throughout your day to help protect you. The skin also contains glands and layers of cells that are intended to serve as protection from microbes and the elements, helps regulate body temperature, and permits the sensations of touch, heat and cold.

This is a great option for any vegans who want to start dry-brushing but are looking for an alternative to animal bristle brushes. While the brush has been reported to shed some of its bristles when you first start using it, after the initial few weeks it will stop losing bristles and you’re left with a really great dry skin brush to help slough off any dead skin and improve your cellulite by stimulating tissue circulation.
Dry brushing works by exfoliating the skin. Practitioners of dry brushing rub a brush with coarse, natural-fiber bristles over their bodies in a particular pattern.
