It does hurt a little (I’m using a citrus based oil to help reduce friction) but it isn’t overwhelming. Your massaged areas will get an angry red color but it fades slowly over the next hour or so after using this tool. It leaves a pleasent tingly feeling in your skin after you use it that makes up for the initial discomfort. So far I am happy with this product.
