The Scavenger Hunt of Your nDreams

Want to try a scavenger hunt inside a Blueprint:Home maze? How about half a dozen such mazes?
This is a completely unique user-created quest for everyone in Home to enjoy for free. And we all know that FREE is the best kind of game. Plus, if you can be the first in a group of ten contestants to finish this scavenger hunt correctly, you win a prize! There will be twenty-four groups of ten to compete. See the rest of the details, the rules, and the ‘how to register for the race’ sections that follow.
Come on! You know you want to try it.
To make this even wilder, we have six HSM writers and associates creating their own version of a Scavenger Hunt Maze. No two mazes are alike. In fact, some of them are so different, you will be asking the hosts if you can come for visits after the contest, just to try them all.
First challenge: find the entrance. Depending on which maze you sign up for, there might be no visible entrance at all. Or there might be several. In fact, you might find yourself entering and leaving several times before you finish a maze. Why? Because if you do not listen carefully to the Briefing Session by the host before you try to enter, you will miss important clues. So, listen and take notes.
Then, if you are smart you will have a pencil and a piece of graph paper to track your movements. In our mazes the contestants will be hunting the scavenger items. You will be making a list of the 12 items you find inside the maze. No, the chairs are not part of the items. Nor are the ramps. Oops, did I say ramps? Yes, sometimes the doors are one-way. You can go up the ramp to get in — but you cannot get back on the ramp to exit. Or you might take a telepad and discover it did not take you to the Finish Line. Go back and try again.
After you find and list all 12 of the items, you need to locate any exit that does take you outside. Run to your host and PM your list to that Host. First contestant out with a correct list of all 12 items will win. Don’t even think about helping a pal! The 12 items get completely changed between races.
This is also a terrific opportunity to see a personal space in Home used to create a mini-game and get ideas on things you might want to do with your own. You will get to see most of the Style Pack combinations in the different rooms.
Some of the mazes are quite pretty and some are…disquieting. Especially so when a hosts turn on a red smoke machine. But, come see for yourself. If you cannot be there for the contest on Sunday, August 26th, I will still be glad to have you drop in for a visit to may maze the following week. It is up to each host if they will be available for tours after the contest. In my case, just let me know and I will leave the porch light on for you.
Meanwhile, here’s the information you need about the Scavenger Hunt:
DATE: Sunday, August 26th
RACE TIMES: Your choice of one: 4 PM, 5 PM, 6 PM, or 7 PM Pacific Time. That’s 7 – 8 – 9 – 10 PM Eastern.
LOCATIONS: Blueprint Personal Spaces. We will have six Mazes being hosted by HSM writers and associates that day.
HOSTS: DarthGranny, Sunshine555, Sorrow-US, dlyrius, bonxo8480, and MattCB1986. Five of the locations will be hosted in English. And one (with Sorrow-US) will be in French for our French-speaking Canadian and EU friends who want to participate.
TO REGISTER: You must pre-register for a specific race to participate. Here’s how to sign up:
Send a message requesting confirmed space in the race. Send it in Home to any one of the Hosts. In the message, state which time slot you prefer and a second choice if that one is already full. If a host’s time slots are already full, they will forward your request to one of us who still have space available.
You will receive a reply confirming your contest time.
You must send your request no later than August 24th, 7 PM Pacific Time.
Then, on August 26th, 15 minutes before your scheduled race time, you will receive the Add Request from your host. When accepted, you will receive an Invite to the host’s BluePrint personal space.
As soon as you receive that Invite, please proceed directly. By the way, to avoid long delays, please be in your Harbour Studio Apt. when you receive the Invite. Trying to download the BluePrint space from the Hub or any other public space can be a problem.
Immediately after the race, your name will be deleted to make space for the next group of contestants.
RULES: Few and simple:
* You may not enter more than one race.
* If you register and then don’t show up, you will never be invited again.
* You may not take pictures or videos inside the Maze until all the races are finished.
* Anyone caught trying to freeze the race site will be reported and fed to hungry zombies.
FIRST PRIZE: One per race for each Maze.
For prizes, we have all five of the summer bundles available (Ultimate Fantasy Fashion Male / Female, Ultimate Party Male / Female, Ultimate Horror) as well as any of the currently available Style Packs for Blueprint (Asylum, Sci Fi Horror, Classroom). Winners will choose one prize from that list. The Maze Hosts will gather a list of winners. Winners are responsible for providing a valid e-mail address in order to receive prize codes. HSM will send the prize codes to the winners by no later than Sept. 01.
