Thanks for all the questions.
We’ve updated the rules for the competition here:

http://www.facebook.com/notes/lockwood-publishing-ltd/lockwood-showoff-showdown/214451418587410

So this should help clarify matters. :)

A quick summary:

-- Is the competition open to male and female avatars?

Yes, there are no gender restrictions on what kind of Home avatars can enter.

-- Does the avatar gender have to match the REAL gender of the person entering the competition?

No, if you are a girl and your best outfit is on a male avatar or vice versa, it doesn’t matter.

-- Are the prize T-shirts real or Home Items?

The T-shirts are real shirts that will be mailed to the winners.

-- Will winners real details be published?

No, shortlisted competitors and winners will be listed by their PSN IDs and NOT their real names. The information requested is for registration purposes. No, entrant’s real details will be released without the entrant’s express permission.

My male avatar has a fashion sense too :P

An avatar is any gender you choose -- not necessarily what you got stuck with in real life. Some of the most fashionably dressed ‘females’ in Home are actually males. They make no secret of it in their posts on Ladies Fashion Runway. And it is a non-issue for most of us.

I agree with Joanna that I would not enter a contest if I thought my real-life name was going to appear. But for me that is a moot point -- I cannot enter the contest anyhow. I promised to help everyone who is competing so it would be hypocritical of me to do that and then compete against them.

I know I would not my personal information made public.

I’m not sure if I see that in the competition rules. I think clarification from Lockwood would be a good idea.
