History: This wharf was on of the first structures erected by the military in preparation for Fort Casey. The dock originally had two storage buildings on it.  All supplies needed for the construction and operation of the Fort, including food, arrived at this wharf.  Small rail cars traveled to and from the wharf and over the bridge (which was originally connected up until c. 1950’s), supplying the complex.  Eventually roads were developed and trucks became the primary means of transporting items.  A fire in 1975 destroyed a larger wharf building.  The wharf is within Ft. Casey State Park.
