History: Gistave Reuble Sr. had this farmhouse built for his family by local carpenter Mr. Dean. Dairy cows, hogs, and chickens were raised here, but Reuble was not a farmer. He was a Civil Service employee for the Fort Casey Military Reservation. He was the blacksmith there, and kept the horses and mules shod until funds ran out and he was replaced with a soldier in 1922.
