History: The old Gallagher Place is located on land where the Alexander and Ebey Donation Claims intersect. Galagher was not a farmer. In 1919, he offered his place for sale: “...Gallagher Place of 9 acres on Ebeys Prairie. Good house with hot and cold water, barn and small orchard-$4250.” William C. Schreck purchased the property and raised chickens here. Shreck also owned a steam-powered thrashing machine, using it and his sizeable crew (24 men) at various farms.
