History: This house was built in 1889 for Jacob Jenne, owner of the Central Hotel. It was modern for its time, with its own water tank providing running water, built-in closets, and a hot water heating system. Following Jacob’s death, Berthe Jenne married Dr. White, and his office building was moved to the property. Berthe Jenne White lived in the house until the late 1940’s.
Description: Italianate Residence. Wood frame set on stone foundation; 1-story hip roof addition on west façade; 3 bays wide; 2-stories; shiplap siding; wood-shingled hip roof with extended eaves; interior off-center chimney. Exterior features include 2/2 double-hung sash with plain surrounds; 2-story bay window with 1/1 double-hung sash, 1-story bay window of similar design on south façade; box cornice; corner boards; small hip roof portico with carved brackets.
