History:  The L.C. Merence Family built this 2-story house up on a hill overlooking the town of San de Fuca and Penn cove.  The house was later owned by the John Armstrong Family who lived here for 34 years.  It was periodically rented out to local farmers and eventually abandoned c. 1955.  The house remained vacant and vandalized for 15 years before the property was purchased in 1970.  The Scoby family  have worked very hard to regain the original presence of the house.  In 1974 they added an extension to the east side of the house, and enclosed the front porch.

Description:  Vernacular Queen Anne Residence.  Wood frame set on post and block foundation; rectangle ( 16’ x 38’ ) with hip roof addition on east façade, gable roof addition on northwest façade; 2 bays wide; 2-stories.
