History: L.P. Byrne built this building c. 1903. In 1904, Chris Fisher purchased the structure and ran a general store until it was sold to M.E. Hingston in 1922. The entrance was originally on the south façade facing Penn Cove Road. When Highway 20 was constructed the entrance was changed to the north façade facing the new highway. The Trumbull family purchased the store in 1945 and for a few years lived in the back of it. In 1956, the store was sold to Helen Baker. Over the past few years, the store ahs had several owners and a variety of businesses. The building is currently a retail store.
