Camp Hope is a ministry partnership led by Onesimus Human Resource Development, Inc., a non-profit that helps ex-offenders become and remain whole in the community. We provide children of incarcerated parents with a free transformational week of summer camp.
The camp is held at the beautiful West River Center, owned and operated by the Baltimore Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church. The setting and curriculum offer these children:
This experience, when coupled with ongoing positive mentoring and community-building opportunities, has the potential to make a difference in the life of each young person. Camp Hope seeks to break the destructive cycle in which children of incarcerated parents are seven times more likely to become negatively involved with the criminal justice system, with approximately 70% having negative contact with the criminal justice system in their lifetimes.
