History Resources for Curious Students
HistoryClass is a free social studies platform offering chronologically organized lessons, primary source archives, and timed quizzes for students from middle school through college survey courses.
Course paths include Ancient Civilizations, Classical Greece and Rome, Medieval Europe, the Islamic Golden Age, Imperial China, pre-Columbian Americas, the Renaissance and Reformation, Age of Exploration, Enlightenment, Industrial Revolution, World Wars, Cold War, decolonization, and contemporary global history. US history is covered from colonial founding through the twenty-first century.
Content is leveled for grades 6-8 social studies, high school world and US history, and Advanced Placement courses. Each track includes geography, civics, and economics modules so students see how history connects to today's institutions.
We offer focused review for the AP World History, AP US History, AP European History, SAT Subject Tests legacy review, the US Citizenship test, and state social studies assessments such as the New York Regents and Florida EOC.
Each unit pairs a narrated timeline with annotated maps, two or three primary source documents, a short essay prompt, and a fifteen-question quiz. Spaced review brings back key dates, people, and concepts across weeks.
Educators can assign document-based questions, build custom quizzes, and download standards-aligned lesson plans for NCSS, C3 Framework, and state standards. Classroom dashboards track mastery by era and theme.
