Brian Hogencamp is a full-time student, practitioner, and certified instructor of Iyengar yoga. Patricia Kalman found her way to Iyengar yoga after struggling with a back injury for many years. Michael Lucey stumbled into an Iyengar yoga class in England in 1982, while he was a student at Oxford University, and from his very first class has been fascinated by the many ways yoga can transform your relation to your body, mind, and breath. Allan Nett holds an Intermediate Junior 3 certificate, has been studying Iyengar Yoga since 1982, and has been teaching since 1990. An ardent practioner of Iyengar Yoga for more than twenty-five years, David’s depth and passion for the subject shine forth brightly in his teaching. Julia Sterling is fascinated by the body and loves to practice unlocking tension and stress to find energy and joy through her yoga. After several years of teaching yoga in Taiwan, Da-Gang moved to San Francisco to pursue his love of Iyengar Yoga.
He is a graduate of the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco, and has studied with senior Iyengar teachers at the California Yoga Center, IYISF, and the Abode of Iyengar Yoga.
As a teacher, Anne encourages her students to personally find the benefits of yoga leading her class with passion and enthusiasm (and a hint of a French accent!).
She delights in sharing this gift, is grateful for the well of wisdom from which it springs, and is deeply inspired to continue to delve deeper towards the source by her teachers: the Iyengar family, Manouso Manos, Kathy Alef, Kofi Busia, and Ramanand Patel.
He is a student of Manouso Manos and regularly returns to Pune, India to study with the Iyengar family.

He is an Iyengar certified instructor based in San Francisco and teaches both nationally and internationally. In 2012, Da-Gang graduated from IYISF. Today, he is a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher who continues to study yoga teaching with his mentor, Janet MacLeod.

She has had the opportunity to study in India with the Iyengars 6 times and at home with Senior teachers. This led to teaching and now Patricia is a certified Iyengar yoga teacher at the Intermediate Junior I level. His trip to study at Geetaji’s intensive in December 2014 will be his ninth time in Pune studying with the Iyengar family. She shares this knowledge with her students. Patti regularly studies with top Iyengar teachers in the Bay Area, and frequently attends Iyengar workshops with senior Iyengar teachers visiting the Bay Area from around the world. David has apprenticed under Senior Instructor Manouso Manos since 2000, and continues to travel regularly to India to study directly with the Iyengar family. She found an affinity for the form of Iyengar Yoga and began a long course of study to become a certified teacher.
As the faculty chair of IYISF’s teacher training program, Kathy teaches and supports the Institute as an inspiring fountain of classic yoga knowledge for dedicated students.
Maria has had the great fortune of making regular pilgrimages to India to study with the Iyengar family. Consistent, dedicated practice continues to reveal to him the universality and completeness of the Iyengar approach to yoga. She studies and apprentices with Manouso and Rita Manos and has also studied in Pune with the Iyengar family. Patti  formerly served on the board of directors for the Iyengar Yoga Association of Northern California. Allan’s enthusiastic, accessible and non-judgmental teaching style helps students connect with their own relationship to yoga.

Nearing 50 years of age and 20 years of yoga teaching experience, Julia relies on the support that yogic practice and philosophy bring to her life. Her regular visits to Pune, India to study with the Iyengar family enriches and nourishes her own practice and teachings. He has taught in corporate settings and draws from his first-hand experience with the counterbalancing effects of yoga in the context of high-stress environments.

Julia had studied with a wide variety of Iyengar Yoga teachers locally for two decades and was blessed to spend one month in Pune with the Iyengars in 2000.
In addition to her yoga training, Maria holds degrees in physical education and Expresion Corporal (a form of modern dance) from her native Argentina.
