October has been quite a month at Be My Eyes, and we’re here to bring you all the highlights. We'll get you up to speed with an important milestone. Next, you can read about no less than three new awards on our mantelpiece, as well as what we believe to be one of the most important awareness days of the year; World Sight Day. We also have some fall inspiration for our blind and low-vision users, and then we’ll introduce you to an interesting blind YouTuber with a purpose. But first, we’ll start you off with Jon’s Story. Enjoy the read!
Jon works as a screenwriter in Hollywood and is one of the many amazing Be My Eyes volunteers. Being a Be My Eyes volunteer has given him a wider perspective of life, and of all the things we take for granted.Read Jon’s story
Be My Eyes has reached the amazing milestone of surpassing more than 100,000 blind and low-vision signups. But even though we’ve come a long way, there’s still much more to be done.
In October, Be My Eyes has been honored with three awards; GOV Design Awards, Lovie Awards and Berlin Design Awards.
October 11th 2018 was the annual World Sight Day organized to raise awareness of blindness, visual impairment and universal eye care.
Fall is full of many activities that the Be My Eyes volunteers would love to assist you with.
“Be My Eyes has made me feel so much more comfortable and secure knowing that if I should need sighted help, I’ll be able to get it.”
– Diane, blind user from USA
“The power to help and receive love, esteem and gratitude is priceless.”
– Riccardo, volunteer from Italy
