Sign up to receive our All Access Pass newsletter, and never miss out on information handpicked for you by our gear experts! At under 27 pounds, this 88-note weighted-action piano delivers Yamaha's PureCF grand piano sound, splits, built-in drum patterns, a song recorder, and more. I'm by no means a pianist, but I wanted something with the real sound of a piano without all the useless sounds, drums, effects etc. The CP1 is certainly a flagship model from Yamaha, featuring imitation ivory action and a newly designed wood. The CP1 Stage Piano, unlike its siblings, is entirely dedicated to acoustic and electric pianos, which sound quite spectacular. The best of both innovation and tradition are incorporated into the design of this world-class 88-key electronic keyboard.
Yamaha specifically designed every part of the Yamaha CP1 Stage Piano so that its commitment to making a long-lasting and timeless 88-key stage piano keyboard would be reflected. Apparently, Yamaha has made sure that the player would find it easy using this piano in performance considering the layout of the intuitive user interface, knobs, and switches. Controls: When playing this Yamaha CP1 Stage Piano, everything is right there in front of the piano player. Feel: The CP1 has a very natural weighting, which means that it is not too heavy, perhaps like alight to medium grand piano.
The CP1 also has a Spectral Component Modeling system for generating tones, so the sound of both acoustic and vintage electronic pianos is recreated quite marvelously. The bottom line is that the Yamaha CP1 Stage Piano is an incredibly expression piano with perfect combination of tone and touch, and outstanding quality, making it ideal for onstage performances.

A sliding keyguard, which prevents dust from covering your main button area and enter between your keys, comes in very practical and ultimately saves you the time and effort to clean the device too often.

I gave it 9 because there are some extra features in the hi end samples which is not presented on P140 like strings resonance(not sustain resonance ) or 5 or more layers of samples. A pack of good sounding piano sounds with amazing YAMAHA GHE piano action system and alot of extra features Plus a nice look.
While our competitors might offer house credit cards that require you to fill out an application and pass a credit check, our payment plans are easy to get, simple to use, and, best of all, accrue zero interest. That‘s why we have absolutely free ground shipping on every single order shipped within the continental United States. Our success in meeting the needs of our customers -- since 1996, we‘ve satisfied over 1,000,000 people -- is due in large part to the fact that zZounds only hires experienced musicians to answer your calls and emails, and they are never paid a commission. Weighing under 10 pounds, this portable keyboard is a great practice instrument for beginner pianists. I've been playing it almost every day, for a few hours (or sometimes all day long on a saturday) for the 2 months I've had it so far. By today‚Äôs standards, the earlier electric and electric-acoustic CP pianos from Yamaha were too heavy.
The three-dimensional sound that is emitted by large concert pianos has been captured by the CP1, which can truly be heard through the megabuck monitor system in a recording studio.
Yamaha completely redesigned the sound technology in this CP1 stage piano from the ground up.
This piano has classic side panels made of wood and the top has a vintage texture, so memories of classic pianos from the past tend to resurface. The CP1 stage piano keyboard from Yamaha makes a striking visual statement by bringing together all of these design elements quite impressively.
In other words, it offers the most realistic feel in comparison to many other digital pianos. This technology responds to the touch of the player, so more creative expression becomes possible than was ever before.
The best built in option is the built-in lesson, my daughter was able to follow the score on the lcd screen without problem.
You can plug in your headphones and practice as long as you want without driving the whole family mad.
The action is very good but even with blindfold test you can easily recognize that it's a digital not acoustic.
You will not be disappointed if you don't expect too much from the internal 6watts speakers althogh they are fine according to my taste. Unlike those house credit cards that can leave you vulnerable to exorbitant interest charges once the promotional period ends, we never have and never will charge interest when you take advantage of one of the zZounds Play as You Pay plans. It has just enough effects, (reverb) and two voices for each of the instruments on it to keep you interested. However, it is this heaviness that made them an industry standard for those who wanted to get real piano sound on the stage, when touring with an acoustic piano was not possible. The cutting edge and state-of-the-art technology that has been incorporated should also become apparent.
When looking at the CP1, it can be seen that Yamaha paid a lot of attention on detail and quality in all the components. It has quite a bright screen, and parameters on the CP1, such as hammer hardness, will prove to be very useful.
A special NW-STAGE action was also developed by Yamaha for this piano, which means that the CP1 will easily meet the demands of professional piano players as well. It has a USB port, this means you can add music files or store some of your own creations easily.

I read so many reviews before buying this product and I can say this is a excellent digital piano. For instance, the display is in brilliant vacuum fluorescent, the volume knob is made of brushed aluminum, and the Yamaha logo is lighted.
Being also fully compatible with recent operating systems enables you to alter and mix your music and move it from the piano to your pc and back without too much hassle. The solid wood adds up to the general weight of the delivery package (140 pounds) but the quality makes up for it.
The other sounds are above the average BUT don't forget it is a digital piano not a work station keyboard. Call us at 866-zZounds (866-996-8637), and we‘ll provide you with a lower price on the phone. Have already recommended it to my church as a excellent practice room piano for the choirs.
I was skeptical at first but I'm thrilled with this, and may even learn a thing or two now! Call us at 800-zZounds (800-996-8637), and we‘ll provide you with a lower price on the phone. More than this, I’ve talked to piano teachers that tested out the ARIUS, and asked their opinion about it.
Also, if you purchase from us and later find the product for less elsewhere, call or email us within 45 days, and we‘ll refund you the difference. Features are there but need a map to take advantage because you control the features via the keys.
Remember to have somebody help you on delivery day, if you’re a of a smaller stature.
Actually the Yamaha ARIUS YDP-V240 surpasses other digital pianos that cost much more, in aspects such as sound, touch and number of effects and features. You can set your piano to accompany you with dozens of different instruments like guitar, drums, flute and others. In fact, all the other sounds are incredible, the strings, bass, rock organ sound exactly like they are supposed to be. Overall, great product , I always have been using Yamaha products and will continue to do so. But sometimes I want the bass to go down an extra octave so I can play in B flat (for instance) and still have 2 octaves of bass.
There's a few (like my lowest E flat) that just sometimes doesn't make a sound when I press it. And lately (sometimes) it seems to make a louder sound than the rest of the keys with the same pressure. I'm not sure if I got a busted unit or if it's just not made with that high quality. It does have its own speakers, but at 2 watts each, they obviously sound pretty tinny. I have mine plugged into my main living-room speakers via the quarter inch headphone output and it sounds great when you can hear the full sound.I do love how light it is though, and the fact that it can be run on batteries.
I'm thinking about taking to acoustic-style jam sessions around a campfire or in a festival parking lot, and it's about the only keyboard I could think of doing that with.
