Graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Music with an ARCT in Piano, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from the University of Manitoba.

Anne Lehman began teaching in the piano preparatory program (forerunner of CSA) as a student intern at Goshen College. A native of rural Minnesota, Luke Norell has concertized internationally as soloist and chamber musician. A Goshen native, Mary Rose (Jordan) Norell began her piano studies under Marvin Blickenstaff in the Goshen College Piano Preparatory Department. Kathryn Schmidt, pianist, enjoys a blossoming career as a performer of solo and collaborative works, teacher, and adjudicator. A registered Suzuki teacher, Brook teaches beginning to advanced CSA cello students in both Suzuki and traditional methods. She studied violin through high school and college, and as a GC student was a winner in the music department’s annual Concerto Aria Competition in 2000. Along with teaching, she is active as a church musician, and enjoys performing as s a member of local orchestras and smaller ensembles, including Maple City Chamber Orchestra and Elkhart County Symphony. Before that time she taught applied piano to students from grades 3 through 8 at Trinity College of Music and Royal School of Music (Thailand), and was also a piano teacher at St.
Sandy has performed on Wisconsin Public Radio’s Live from the Elvehjem and has appeared in a variety of musical and operatic roles. She studied violin pedagogy with Eleanor Briccetti of the Indianapolis Symphony and Mimi Zweig, a specialist in the teaching of children at the Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington. She served as Choral Director at Central Noble High School and Central Noble Middle School in Albion (Ind.) from 2000-2004.
Beverly Lapp, Professor of Music and chair of the music department at Goshen College, runs the Goshen College Piano Pedagogy Lab Program with Dr.
As a GC student, she was a winner in the music department’s annual Concerto-Aria Competition in 2002. His prizes include first place awards in the Schubert Club Competition, the Minnesota MTNA Competition, and the Third Biennial Lee Piano Competition. She has developed a vibrant performance career at home and abroad, concertizing in Ravinia’s Bennett Gordon Hall and Chicago’s Cindy Pritzker Auditorium, as well as at venues in Norway, England, Austria, Italy, and Lithuania.
Kathryn has performed at noted venues including the Chan Centre, the Norman Rothstein theatre, the Telus Studio theatre (Vancouver), the Winnipeg Art Gallery (Winnipeg) and the Wiener Saal (Salzburg, Austria).

He has been playing in youth orchestra for nine years and has played with the Winnipeg Symphony through the Rising Stars program. He strives to help students come to a better understanding of not only the music they are playing, but of all music that they come across.
Quest Music Academy has been providing music lessons to students from Winnipeg, and across Manitoba, Canada. Since then, Jessica has taught many students of all ages and levels and currently plays first violin with the South Bend Symphony Orchestra. She was chosen as an intern to participate in the National Association of Teachers of Singing Internship Program at Penn State University with master teacher Jean Westerman Gregg. After moving to Elkhart County in 1984, Kathleen actively taught violin and provided leadership of the Goshen College Strings Preparatory Department.
She has privately taught students from Penn-Harris-Madison and Concord Schools and currently teaches voice at Bethany Christian Schools.
Anne graduated with a major in psychology and a minor in piano pedagogy in 2003, and began teaching piano with CSA again in 2007. Luke studied with Andre Watts at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, while teaching as an Associate Instructor, and working as the Accompanying Coordinator. Active as a concerto soloist, Mary Rose has performed with ensembles such as the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, the Northwestern Summer Orchestra, the Elkhart County Symphony, and the Maple City Chamber Orchestra.
In recent years, Kathryn adjudicated several festivals around BC, and served as the Music Director of Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church (Cloverdale, BC). Suarez have developed the most efficient and exciting way of teaching music, enriched by their positive and motivating educational philosophy which focuses on building on each student’s strengths.
She oversees all the teaching at her studio and assures the uniformity of teaching standards and practices and overall excellence. Suarez has studied at Curtis Institute (Philadelphia), Tchaikovsky Conservatory (Moscow), McGill University (Montreal, Doctor in Music), University of Southern California (Los Angeles), Institute for Advanced Musical Studies (Montreux), and Ravel Academy (France).
Also a psychotherapist who believes strongly in the critical role that creativity plays in actualizing our potentialities as human beings and living a life that is passionately rich and engaged. Past performances include master classes with internationally renowned guitarists such as Fabio Zanon, Marcin Dylla, Lukasz Kuropaczewski, Jeremy Jouve, Judicael Perroy, Johannes Moller, and Vladimir Gorbach, as well as concerts for the Winnipeg Classical Guitar Society and performances at the Winnipeg Music Festival. Brook is currently associate principal cellist of the South Bend Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra. She also served as concertmaster of the Elkhart County Symphony Orchestra and in 1986-87, she taught GC Professor Lon Sherer’s violin students during his sabbatical year. Kristin is an adjudicator with the Indiana State School Music Association, a guest song leader for area retreats and conferences, and a flute and soprano soloist. All levels are welcome, starting from beginner to advanced levels, including RCM grades 1-8.
Lapp leads the college course on the study of piano pedagogy. Previous experience with community music schools and leadership of the Goshen College Piano Preparatory Department led to a passion for the training of future piano teachers. Mary Rose currently serves as the CSA Director, and teaches piano lessons and group classes of the Piano Pedagogy Lab Program for the CSA. Mary’s College, and plays regularly with classical and jazz performing groups in Indiana, Michigan, and Illinois. Beverly serves on the Board of Trustees for the Frances Clark Center for Keyboard Pedagogy and co-hosts the annual Goshen College Piano Workshop and Academy.
