East London Piano’s core strength is the impressive roster of pianists it represents. Our tutors have experience performing around the world and have won prestigious awards in various national and international competitions. Eleni was born in Athens and started playing the piano at the age of 9 with Kate Trulli at the Athens National Conservatory. In 1998 Eleni was awarded the B’ Prize at the 13th Panhellenic Piano Competition and a three- year scholarship by the “Friends of Music Society” in order to study the organ with Nicolas Kynaston at the Athens Concert Hall. In 2003 Eleni was awarded a scholarship from the Alexander S.Onassis Scholarship Foundation. Kat is a pianist with training at the National Conservatoire in Athens where she graduated from with distinction and further private studies with Prof. In November 2012 Kat participated in the Senior Intercollegiate Piano Competition organised by the Beethoven Society of Europe. In addition, Kat has performed  at London Fashion Week (for Erdem’s catwalk show), had her songs broadcast on BBC (Radio 3 and World Service) and made her European debut at Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Kat has been kindly supported by Goldsmith College’s International Student Fund and acknowledges further sponsorship via the P. Coming from an initial career in architecture, Irish born pianist Darragh Brogan began his BMus in 2009 at the Dublin Conservatory of Music and Drama, studying under Dr.
Through his studies, he participated in regular masterclasses with internationally acclaimed pianists such as Barry Douglas, Graham Johnston, Phillippe Cassard to name a few.
Darragh graduated with first class honours in 2013 receiving the prestigious Student Academic Excellence Award. A young pianist from the south coast of England who has played from the age of 4 and completed the ABRSM classical and jazz grades. Through his study of the piano at Goldsmiths he was taught by Coady Green and Danny Driver.
Paul Cassidy studied as a Foundation Scholar at the Royal College of Music with Irina Zaritzskaya and Andrew Ball, graduating in 2001 as recipient of the Hopkinson Silver Medal for his performance in the RCM Chappell Medal Final. A finalist in the Uk’s first National Jazz Piano Competition in 2008, Tom studied Music at New College, Oxford University in 2003, moving on to complete his Masters in Jazz piano at Trinity College of Music in 2009. Vanesa studied piano at the Conservatory of Manresa with Lluis Rossello and graduated in the Conservatory of Barcelona with Paula Torrontegui. Vanesa has performed in Spain, France, Germany and UK in venues such as the Teatro Principal in Palma de Mallorca, Ateneu of Barcelona,  Sala Clemente in Valencia, Auditori Enric Granados de Lleida, Sala Paper de Musica de Capellades, Salle du l’Orangerie in Metz, Deptford Hall and Senate House in London; in festivals as Encontre Internacional de Compositors in Palma de Mallorca or Atomino in Crimmitschau.
She is currently studying a Master in Performance in Contemporary Piano at the Royal College of Music with Andrew Zolinsky, performing, creating new projects and teaching. Born in Santiago de Compostela (Spain), Marta started to study piano when she was 8 years old with Marina Shamagian and Ofelia Aznaurova.
While completing her degree in Spain Marta gave concerts in well-known venues in cities such as Madrid, Malaga, Santiago de Compostela, Ferrol, A Coruna, and Vigo. Marta is a devoted piano teacher, who enjoys sharing her experience with young children and adults. Marta took part in a number of competitions in her home country such as “Premi Ciutat de Manresa”, “Ciudad de Linares” Competition, “Ciutat de Carlet” Competion, ASGAIM Competition. She continues her studies of organ with Nicolas Kynaston and David Titterington at the Royal Academy of Music and in 2004, Eleni graduated from the Postgraduate Performance Course with distinction.

She currently teaches piano at Kent College and piano- organ at Rugby School. Eleni started her PhD in Performance on Max Reger’s music on a studentship at Christ Church University, Canterbury in October 2010 . He has availed of many performance opportunities as a soloist, accompanist and chamber musician in prestigious venues such as the National Concert Hall, Christchurch Cathedral, Dublin; Dublin Castle, the Royal Dublin Society, the Pepper Canister Church and the Boyle Arts Festival.
After graduating with his music degree from Goldsmiths College, he now specialises as a pianist and theorist in classical and contemporary studies. Has has performed in Master Classes by Julian Jacobson, Peter Bithell, Philp Fowke and Andrew Zolinsky.
Upon graduation from the RCM Paul studied philosophy at the University of Manchester and Kings’ College London, whilst maintaining a career as a freelance pianist and contemporary music.
Afterwards, she did postgraduate studies at MusicaStudio with conductor and pianist Jean-Pierre Dupuy, and obtained a Masters in Performance and Related Studies at Goldsmiths’ University of London.
She has been part of classical chamber music groups amongst which Velvet Trio, Duo Portella-Santanach and Duetto Besses-Santanach.
In 2010 she obtained her Degree in Piano Performance with Distinction from the Coruna Conservatoire, under the guidance of Alicia Gonzalez Permuy and Ewa Bukojemska, the latter while doing an Erasmus exchange in Akademya z Muzycne in Krakow (Poland). Her studies have been generously supported by the Guildhall School Trust, Spanish Performers’ Association (AIE) and Segundo Gil Davila Trust. More recently she was awarded the Prize for the Musical Excellence by the Paideia Foundation.

He enjoyed much success as a student gaining first prize in all the major piano competitions held at the Conservatory and claiming regular prizes at Ireland’s premier festival for classical music, the Dublin Feis Ceoil, including first prize in the 2014 Anthony Glavin Trophy Competition for performance of a modern sonata.
He has performed in various function bands as a pianist and bass guitarist, one of which won the New Milton Music Festival in 2008. He has twice reached the semi-finals of the British Contemporary Piano Competition, and has given numerous premieres of new works, including the world premiere of Kevin Malone’s CountMe In for piano and electronics at the University of Manchester.

She has also been taught by pianists such as Suzanne Bradbury, Ramon Coll and Josep Maria Colom, and has performed in masterclasses given by Edith Fischer, Stephen Kovacevich,Elgar Nebolsin, Claudio Martinez – Mehner, Hilomi Sakaguchi and Sergei Senkov. Her studies have been generously supported by foundations Area de Creacio Acustica, Fidelio and Centro de Estudios Pianisticos de Barcelona. She also has a great interest in contemporary music and has attended to related courses taught by the ACA Foundation Contemporary Academy, by Vicent Minguet and by IRCAM (Acanthes).
While keeping a busy performance and teaching schedule she also works as an accompanist for the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

In 2005 Eleni participated in a joint recording project with the Royal Academy of Music and the Southwark and South London Organ Society, playing at the Royal Festival Hall. Kat was personally selected by Artur Pizarro to participate in a showcase masterclass at Venables Pianos (April 2013) and has taken part in masterclasses given by Andrei Gavrilov, Dmitri Alexeev, France Clidat and Stephen Kovacevich at Dartington Summer School with a bursary provided by Dartington Hall Trust. Alex has also been a keen performer on the scene of musicals, acting as Colonel Pickering in ‘My Fair Lady’ and Harry in Stephen Sondheim’s ‘Company’. This ensemble later developed into a 6 piano ensemble coached by Piano Circus’s member Paul Cassidy playing repertoire such as Steve Reich’s 6 Pianos, Totti, Terri Riley’s Keyboard Study No.
In 2007 Paul performed inthe PLG Young Artists Concert Series at the Purcell Room, London, and later that same year he participated alongside Michael Nyman and Gavin Bryars in a complete performance of Erik Satie’s Vexations at the Tate Modern, London. She has played in ensembles like Youth Contemporary Ensemble ACA, Tactum, Martinu Ensemble, Goldsmith Contemporary Ensemble and Variable Geometry, under the direction of outstanding conductors as Andres Gomis, David Quiggle, Armando Merino, Jean-Philipp Calvin and Alexander Ivashkin.

Her strong interest on Historical Performance of Early Music led her to undertake studies in harpsichord and organ with Fernando Lopez Pan and Bruno Forst. Kat has a proven track record of 100% success in ABRSM graded exam exams with the majority of her students achieving merits and distinctions; she is the founder and director of East London Piano. In London his performing career continues as a pianist and bass player in the popular and jazz music scenes. Since 2008 Paul has been a member of the six-piano contemporary music ensemble Piano Circus and has performed extensively with the group across the UK, Europe and the United States. She has  has worked with composers such as Xavier Gelabert, Jose Manuel Lopez-Lopez, Vladimir Tarnopolski, Faradh Karaev, Santiago Diaz-Fischer and Ivan Fedele, among others, and has premiered numerous works. Paul is also an experienced Jazz pianist and performs regularly in a variety of venues in and around London.
Recent highlights include her appearance in the BBC Radio 3 programme “In tune”, as part of the Perseidas Ensemble.
