To facilitate the planning of material flow within a plant, key information is  gathered and stored on a PFEP document.  In the below example, all data elements selected will be validated as being defined or completed.   

• PFEP Internal Order Method (e.g., Call Part, Kanban, Pull List, Sequenced)
• PFEP Internal Route - the planned route that the item will flow through the facility
• PFEP Staging Area - the planned staging area that the item will be stored before being presented to the point of use 
• PFEP Internal Staging Method (e.g., using forklifts, tuggers or rollers)
• PFEP Storage Locations - the planned storage location that the item will be stored upon receiving through the dock door
• Inventory Control Cycle
• PFEP Dock Door - the planned dock door where the item will be received into the plant
