The Packaging Catalog is a collection of packaging items. Packaging Item data is not used in any of the FMRP Workbench's calculations. All FMRP calculations are based on Package Type dimensions only. A Packaging Item allows for another layer of categorization of a particular packaging type.

A Packaging Item differs from a Packaging Type in the following ways:

• Packaging Items can be manufacturer specific packaging types.
• Packaging Items can be more dimensionally specific than a packaging type.
