Defining Lead Times for Your Part

To define total lead time for a part:


  1. Click on the Lead Time expansion button.


  1. Enter the Tier 2 lead time

Note: Yellow indicates a required field.

  1. Enter the Production Process lead time
  2. Enter the Import Transport lead time if applicable.
  3. Enter the Standard Transport lead time.
  4. Click Calculate to show total lead time. 
  5. Using the Tier 2 Supplier Lead-Time Constraint Explanation comment field, an explanation of long lead times can be provided. 
  6. Using the Production Process Lead-Time Constraint Explanation comment field, an explanation of long lead times can be provided.
  7. Using the Import Delivery Route drop down menu, choose the overseas route that describes the material flow path from the supplier if applicable.
  8. Using the Inbound Delivery Route drop down menu, choose the domestic route that describes the material flow path from the supplier.
  9. Using the Inbound Transport Partner drop down menu, select the transport partner provider that will be used to transport the part.

Note: By defining the inbound delivery route and the transport partner, standard transport hours can be auto populated. 



  1. Click Update Lead Time Only to capture the time stamp and update by information for this lead time information.

Note: For a part that is linked to a Production Family, values for Steps 2 and 3 can be automatically populated by setting the Lead Time Defaults during Production Family creation.
