I teach beginners up to Grade 2 level and specialise in Early Years Music Education including EYFS and KS1. I regularly enter students for practical and theory exams with many receiving distinction grades. I love performing and my repertoire is currently mostly classical composers including pieces by Satie, Beethoven, Bach and Liszt.
I started learning the piano at the age of four and have a classical training, gaining a Diploma from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in 2005. I moved to London from New Zealand in July 2011 in order to study at the Royal College of Music where I will be working towards a Masters Degree in Collaborative Piano. I have been teaching piano for 5 years to students of all ages, from beginners through to Grade 8 level. I perform regularly as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist and love performing contemporary as well as classical repertoire.
I started playing the piano at the age of 6 with Eileen Rowe and received my Grade 8 piano at age 15. I focus my teaching practice on intermediate and advanced level graded exam students and prepare many students for music scholarship entry to Secondary schools in Southwark.
I organise our termly piano recitals at local schools including Dulwich College, Kingsdale Foundation School and Alleyn's.

I am the founder of the Dulwich Piano Festival, an event sponsored by The SE22 Piano School and The Inter Schools Advertiser. I gained my teaching qualification in 2006 from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. I have won many piano prizes at music festivals including first place at Bromley, Beckenham, Ealing, Kingston, Ruislip and Richmond. I have an avid interest in the music of living composers such as Einojuhaani Rautavaara, Carl Vine and Karen Tanaka. My Saturday students at the SE22 Piano School are taking their Grade 1 practical, theory and Prep Test exams in March 2012. I am also currently studying for a postgraduate teacher training course with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. My student at The SE22 Piano School are working on Rockschool and ABRSM graded piano exams.
I continued my studies beyond Grade 8 with Denise Patton and still continue to learn with her. A student recently achieved nearly full marks for her Grade 1 piano in Spring 2012 (144 out of 150). I hold an Associate Diploma (Distinction) in Piano Performance from Trinity College of Music.

I enjoy introducing my students to the work the many local composers of South London such as Roland Perrin, Gabriel Jackson and Graham Lynch. I also co-organise an Amateur Performance Group for adults held at the historic venue of Steinway Hall in Bond Street.
I live in Tamworth and have a private teaching practice with students ranging in age from 4 to mid-50s. After many years teaching in my home town of Ealing, I started teaching in East Dulwich in 2007. The second trip in October 2012 will be to Handel House Museum in Oxford Circus to take part in a harpsichord masterclass. I now co-ordinate a busy piano teaching practice of four teachers and over 60 pupils aged 3 to 60.
