The ZAGG Flex keyboard is the perfect companion for the Nexus 7, transforming my favorite content consumption tablet into a tablet I can use to get work done.
Roughly two inches longer than the Nexus 7 is wide, this thin keyboard is easy to carry with the tablet or toss in a bag for when work calls while on the go. The keys are small but usable for a typing session without sacrificing speed or significant accuracy. The keyboard is slightly larger than the Nexus 7, offering better key size and placement than cases. I typed this review on the Nexus 7 with the ZAGG Flex keyboard and didn’t have any more corrections than typing on the iPad with a mobile keyboard.
Unlike many keyboards that cater to specific devices, the Flex features a switch to toggle between iPhone or iPad support and Android support. There’s also support for keyboard shortcuts used on WIndows and Mac computers to highlight text and cut, copy and paste. I’ve taken to carrying the ZAGG FLex with me almost anytime I leave the house with the Nexus 7. The ZAGGkeys Flex keyboard retails for $69 at ZAGG, and is a great Bluetooth keyboard for the Nexus 7, Android tablets, phones and the iPad and iPhone.
More official Google Nexus 7 accessories have emerged, including a Bluetooth keyboard case for the 7-inch Jelly Bean tablet, and a rotating folio-stand that allows for both portrait and landscape use. The Bluetooth keyboard case works as a regular folio for the Nexus 7, but also includes a kick-stand on the back to prop the tablet up at an angle on your desk. The rotating stand case, meanwhile, props up the Nexus 7 and allows it to swivel between landscape and portrait orientation.
Other accessories include the simple folio case, though it's not clear if this is the same as the leather folio that leaked earlier this week.
Having a tablet is fun and having a keyboard for the times you don’t feel like dealing with your touch screen keyboard can sometimes be even better.
The Bluetooth Keyboard for Nexus 7 has a few other features I would like to list aside from it’s design. Next is the Built-in rechargeable lithium battery which last approximately 55 hours per charge. The Bluetooth Keyboard for Nexus 7 also has a special home screen key that will give access to a variety of applications with just one touch. Overall I love the concept and the ease of the keystrokes when typing on the keyboard but, it wouldn’t be something I would use on a regular basis given a non secure lock in mechanism for my Nexus 7 tablet. During my vacation planning this year, I decided that I was going to leave my 13in Macbook Air laptop at home and only take my Nexus 7 2013 Android tablet.
Three months ago I had a chance to purchase a rubber case for s3 made by minisuit that I still use up to now. Will the keyboard work on the nexus 7 2012 model, if not is there one out there that will, would love one. On the nexus 7 is there a way to shrink the keyboard so it isn’t taking up half the screen in landscape view? A new, beautiful Bluetooth keyboard for the Nexus 7 has popped up on the interwebs recently. If you actually read about it on XDA, you would know that it’s not aluminum, but a Grey plastic similar to the edge of the nexus 7. John – Yes, but importing to the UK from the USA always hits me with import tax and then the post office hit me for a handling fee too.
What I’d dearly love to know is whether the keytops can be snapped off and reattached without damage. It’ll be a while before affordable standalone monitors have display resolution like the N 10.
Judging from the photos on the seller’s website, you can safely snap the keys off and on. The pin outs are for a pogo charger (because the micro usb charges painfully slow)which Google never released. I discovered this also but when i watched multi videos of how to use the keyboard I noticed they put the tablet upside down and it works…??

The official Keyboard Folio case for the Nexus 9 from HTC is now finally available for order on Google Play. The keyboard folio case will attach magnetically to your Nexus 9 and connect to it over Bluetooth. The Keyboard ships in 1-2 business days from Google Play, which means that you should have it in your hands later this week, or early next week.
If I hold the arrow key down, the cursor always moves way more than anticipated, but repeated taps work fine. The keyboard features a row of device keys to control the volume and media playback as well as shortcuts to cut, copy and paste. Even though I often leave it in the car, I like to have a keyboard with me after hours in case I need to get online to edit or if news breaks. The ASUS-made add-ons are all expected imminently, UK retailer MobileFun claims, finally broadening the range of accessories Nexus 7 owners can choose from beyond the current polyurethane cover. That way you can use the splashproof keyboard - which probably means rubberized keys, which will sadly cut down on typing feel - which itself promises 45hrs of battery life and simple recharging via microUSB, just like the Google tablet itself. It, like the non-swiveling stand case, has a leather-effect outer and a microfiber interior lining. Currently it's only listed in black, though the leather model is expected in four difference colors. The Mobile bluetooth keyboard for Nexus 7 is just that type of handy piece of accessory to keep around.
That’s some good charging time depending on how much work you are doing on the keyboard. First you press the power toggle switch and the power and Bluetooth indicator light will turn on for 5 seconds before shutting off. For other devices, you would have to make sure it reaches Bluetooth standard and compatibility. I figured it was a good way to keep me from wanting to do real work while I was supposed to be relaxing on Sanibel Island, Florida.
In fact this keyboard is really helpful when I go to coffee shops and I don’t need to bring my laptop or desktop (lol). I worked for the company (hence the handle) and the keys were the size of a standard keyboard key with the bottoms cut off so only the tops were left.
As much as possible, I try to unwind with my family once or twice a month though at times, even if I am relaxing I still need to reply to my clients inquiry well that’s a part of my work. What I really fancy about minisuit is that, this company do not sell very expensive accessories but they are of good quality. When I inserted the tablet with the control buttons up, dock connector down, the screen goes dark immediately. The keyboard will also be available for purchase through Amazon, though the retailer is yet to announce a release date.
The delete key is right next to the lock button, which leads to some accidental device locks. This is signficantly faster than using the Android on-screen keyboard, even one as good as SwiftKey. Finally, there's a screen protector, which promises not only resistance to greasy fingers and scratches, but better contrast from the Nexus 7's LCD.
This keyboard works fine when used on its own, but if I pair a Bluetooth mouse, the mouse becomes erratic and the keyboard suffers from repeating keys. Nexus 7 with a pair of this Minisuit keyboard will do and is really helpful when you’re a travel person. They were all squished together to make a keyboard smaller than the size top of a VHS cassette.
When unwinding, I don’t really like the idea of bringing my entire job with me, what I usually do is bringing my iPad or nexus. With just a few dollars you can already have a blue tooth keyboard that can even last for a long time as long as you take care of it.
I thought at first it was a bit bulky but I was wrong because honestly, it’s really handy and comfortable to use.

If you have questions as I work on the review, click the link above and leave comments with your questions. If I try to turn it on again it brings me to the lock screen, but when I unlock it goes dark again.
Its actually not aluminium, i knew this before I bought it, but be careful before you buy it as it is NOT aluminium even though it says it is, which is not a bad thing at all. The keyboard case also comes with its own internal 450mAh battery, which is only sufficient to power the keyboard for two days straight.
All images, logos and trademarks used on this site are property of their respective owners. You can always go back to using the touch screen keyboard that’s built into your tablet.
The Bluetooth indicator light will start blinking which means the keyboard is ready to connect to The Nexus 7 device. Other than that, the keyboard itself is simple to use and worth giving a try depending on your needs and location of use.
But it quickly turned into how can I make the Nexus 7 be my laptop replacement for the trip so that if I do want to work, I can. I was able to touch type on it, but you had to basically keep your fingers right next to each other.
However, when you need to be quick when responding to your emails, it would be quite hard to do it with touch screen, I am sure owners of touchscreen gadgets can relate to this. There are many nice features such as being able to type special characters, copying, pasting, volume controls, music controls, back and home button, which can be used to unlock the device. I think if they would have built the stand portion to easily lock your Nexus 7 into place then it would be great. In testing the battery life for the keyboard I would have to say the company is true to their word.
When you turn on your Bluetooth on your Nexus 7 tablet it’s going to ask you to type in a password. It is powered by a rechargeable 160 mAh battery that is said to give 55 hours of consecutive use or 60 days of standby time. My standard USB keyboard doesn’t fit my nexus like a glove and also serve as a stand. Highly recommend, makes typing 10x faster, works very well, not quite like a laptop or dekstop as its only just big enough, but after a couple days you get the hang of it. The Minisuit Nexus 7 2013 Keyboard Case was one of the contenders that came  with me on the trip. Last month I bought the Bluetooth keyboard for my iPad and last week I got Minisuit’s Nexus 7 (2013) Keyboard. The battery is charged by a normal micro USB cable, so you won’t need to worry about fumbling with extra chords. What would have been even more awesome is if the keyboard had a battery indicator light so that you have an estimate of how much battery time you have left. What I like about this one is that, it’s pretty unique, affordable and it really serves it purpose for my nexus. Then someone by chance passes by and end up maybe given the slightest tap to you and your device, guess what’s going on the floor with a possible cracked screen?
A couple of months ago, I had a chance to buy a very cheap Bluetooth keyboard for my nexus as well though after one month of usage, it broke down. As for what I bought from minisuit, so far I can’t complain… Thanks gadgeteer, amazon and minisuit!!! Of course not everyone is a two-handed typist and it can obviously be used hunt and peck style.
