Pianoforall has been online since 2006 and is today one of the most popular piano courses you can find on the web. The program is based on piano playing techniques and secrets that most of the favorite self-taught Pianists or Keyboard players used when they got started.
Maybe you belong to them having scary memories of sitting at the piano practicing scales while your friends were outside playing and having fun? The course covers all kinds of piano styles, such as pop, blues, ballads, classical and more and comes with videos, audio files, and E-books.
Dear Robin, I just wanted to Thank You for the incredible program that you have put together.
The best thing about this piano learning program I think is the fact that you will learn to play by ear, which is my favorite way of playing and to read music at the same time. You can get the program by instant downloading or as CD-ROM that will be shipped and delivered anywhere in the world. The right hand will play the complete chords while the left hand, as usual, will play the root note of each chord.
You can find all of the diagrams of the chords in all of their positions and inversions in our free ebook of chords and inversions. If you are unsure of how to play different chord positions and inversions, you can find them in our free ebook of chords and inversions which can be downloaded instantly – just enter your name and email address in the right sidebar.
This exercise is a chord progression in the key of C, it is quite simple but is good for those that are just beginning to learn chords and inversions.
The right hand will be playing the complete chords for 4 counts and the left hand will be playing just the root note of each chord. Remember that chords that are played should be close to one another, they should all be played on the same zone or area of the keyboard. Knowing how to play the most essential chords by memory is important, but what is the best way to practice them? Unless your goal is to become a classical pianist or to play specific established melodies, chord progressions are fundamental. There are many ways of playing chords on the keyboard when accompanying a song or when we are simply just practicing or improvising.
I would like to show you a series of chord progressions that will help you greatly with learning to improvise harmonically. One of the hardest things for those who are starting to learn to play the keyboard is finding ways to develop more strength, ability, and independence in the left hand. In the first lesson you learned how to play the Octave, and in Lesson Two, we covered the Scale of C Major.  So now you can play the Scale of C Major in both the left hand and the right hand- using the correct fingering. You have also learned how to read the notes of the Scale of C Major on the Treble Clef, and also on the Bass Clef. You will find that understanding how chords are formed musically will help your understanding of music overall.
Chords which harmonise are the sounds which back all those favorite melodies we love to sing or listen to.
Playing Chords: Being able to play  chords on the piano will be of enormous benefit to you,  as this will give you the ability to accompany  your own melodies, or to accompany other people when they sing. The key of C Major has no black notes, and so it has no sharps or flats, which we will find out about later. You will have spotted that if the first note is on a line, then the other two notes forming the major chord will also be on a line. Play them often, and try to get the fingers to come down on the notes evenly, so that the notes are played all at the same time. Playing the piano is a skill that many people think has to be started young, and practiced for years and years for anyone to ever get really good at it. Piano For All is a series of 10 ebooks that teaches the reader how to play piano quickly, while eschewing many of the staid standbys of traditional piano teaching. Piano For All can best be thought of as a way for learning music like it’s a foreign language. In addition to focusing on playing and gaining an air for music, Piano For All also does away with many of the childish songs that have been the bread and butter for many people just learning to play the piano. Piano For All is not something that will instantly make someone able to play all of the popular tunes from a variety of genres of music.
The books are meant to be read and learned in order, and every book moves through a new genre of music. The move from one white key to the next is called a full step if there is a black note between them.
First, the key signature, which is located between the time signature and the clef sign, can let you know whether notes will be natural, sharp or flat.

The other way to determine if a note is going to be sharp, flat, or natural was mentioned above.
The piano's notes, about which you've already gained some knowledge by reading this article. In your piano lesson you should also receive critiques of your technique, playing ability and progress. You can find a qualified piano teacher through your local university, college, church or publication, or perhaps you know a family friend who may be interested in teaching you how to play the piano. The following articles and web pages can help you learn to read music and, in the process, learn how to associate the keys on the piano with the notes on the music. Even though most of us understand that to be able to play the piano can give us so many wonderful moments in life, many people still hesitate to try to learn this instrument because they think it is too hard. I believe that anyone who is motivated can learn to play this lovely instrument, even if we need some assistance.

I’m now 38 years old, have never played, and with your program I was able to go through the books and videos step by step and now I’m purchasing piano books to play songs to enjoy. It makes the complex understandable and for those of us who don’t want to master music theory, it gets us playing quite well in a short time. That in combination with their many tips and tricks that will help you get to start playing the piano and make it sound good from the beginning is their winning concept. This time we will not be using the root position of each chord but rather different inversions. The first chord that we will play is A and we will play the complete chord on the right hand.
Just enter your name and email address on the right sidebar to download this ebook instantly.
The first round of this exercise we will be using certain positions and the second round will be using other chord positions. For example, the first time that it is played, to get from the C chord in the root position to the F chord in the 2 inversion, just move fingers 3 and 5 (notes E and G). The thumbs are finger 1, the index fingers are finger 2, the middle fingers are finger 3, the ring fingers are finger 4 and the pinky fingers are finger 5. These are like little fragments of a song; basically the harmonic structure, without a defined melody. There is also a ebook of chord positions and inversions included in this method which i will help you practice the chord progressions. In this video you will learn to play arpeggios on the left hand with the chords C, D, E, F, G, A, and B. I hope, too, that you are all keeping that practice up, and that you are  getting to know your way around the keyboard. Already, you can play Octaves, the Scale of C Major, and you can read music. You are doing very well. For now, just accept that C Major is a simple key to play in, because it does not use any black notes. You can see that the notes are formed with one note left out in between each note which is played.
The 3rd finger of the left hand will take the A note, the thumb of the left hand will take the C note at the top of the chord. I have never learned anything about neither the reading of the notes nor the combination of harmonious notes together.
However, learning how to play piano is just like learning how to speak another language; anyone with the time and sufficient dedication can learn how to do it. The books can be downloaded one at a time so that students can go through them as needed, and they come with illustrations in addition to video instructions and, perhaps most importantly, audio so that learning players can understand what sounds they should be making. While Piano For All is most definitely a series of books that helps people learn how to play the piano, that is like saying that monsoon season is wet. As research has shown, the best way to learn a foreign language is to do so organically, through immersing oneself in it, hearing it spoken and learning it the same way people originally learned how to speak.
All of the video and audio is meant to provide those following along at home with a sense of what the music is supposed to sound like. However, if one downloads the entire series of them, reads all of the ebooks, follows all of the instructions and makes sure to practice often then it is much more likely that these books will, in fact, teach that person how to play piano. So whether someone wants to learn how to play classical piano, jazz piano, or they want to do something that’s a lot more rock and roll, this ebook series has everything that someone could want to learn in a series of convenient downloads. In certain situations where a keyboard response is not appropriate, the keyboard becomes inactive (in which case the 'Active' light turns off). You just won't be able to see it until you once again click 'View', then 'Virtual Keyboard'.
For example, you may wish to move it to the bottom right of the screen so it will be out of your way. For example, clicking 'C' or '2' at the left side of the keyboard opens a list of letter-names and octaves that you can select.
If you found the information in this article helpful, please share it with others by putting a link to it on your facebook page, blog or website. Five months in the making, this significant update features (among many other things) a new scrolling Single Stave View mode which makes the notes much larger and therefor easier to read than the default Full Page View (FPV) especially on small screens. Whether you play the piano for its romanticism, the beauty of the pieces that can be played, or because your parents are forcing you to do it (lucky you), you need to keep in mind that playing an instrument requires hard work and dedication.
While a keyboard follows the same basic rules you use to play the piano, keyboards often have less keys and achieve a different sound.
Everyone has to start somewhere when learning to play the piano; we are going to start with Middle C. This is because some sharp and flat notes are actually played on the same key as natural notes. Determining whether the keys you play will be sharp or flat can be done in a few different ways.

Throughout the entire piece, the B will be flat unless otherwise noted by a natural or a sharp sign will be located next to the specific note. This is because the F Major scale is what determines what the key signature is going to be. A sharp, natural or flat symbol will sometimes appear before a note to indicate how you should play it. Not only do scales help improve memorization of notes and key location, but they also help you to improve tone, quality, intonation, technique and stylization. The piano program I am talking about on this page is perfect if you are a piano beginner or a total piano novice but want to learn! Not only will it help you learn to play  in a fast way, you will also find it incredible fun since you right from the beginning will be able to play real songs that sound good!
I have to say that my husband was very skeptical, but you have made him a true believer in your teaching program! It is all there for you if you like so many others, want to learn how to play the piano for beginners.
These kind of piano and keyboard exercises will help you improve your transition from chord to chord. On the left hand we will play the root note (it is optional to play octaves with the root note). The first finger will play the C note and will stay in this place while the other two fingers will play the notes F and A.
The more you practice these, the easier it will be for you to improvise and find chords all over the keyboard in different positions. This method actually even costs less than one single piano class and I am sure that it will transform you into a pretty proficient keyboardist. Chords represent the basis of the  musical system we use today, which is all about harmony. The first example is written an Octave below Middle C but the tonic note, or root of the chord, is still C.
When your fingers have developed strength, then your technical ability will have improved, and you will be able to play these notes altogether, without difficulty, and with a nice even sound. Of course, it also helps to have the right program that uses all of the best teaching methods to help someone really grasp the material as soon as possible. As such, newer programs don’t deal with vocabulary memorization and useless repetition.
The program teaches people how to recognize music and how to play by ear before it introduces the concept of reading off of sheet music as well.
Rather it focuses on more popular songs that people might actually be interested in learning, or even breaking out at a party if there happens to be a piano in the room. However, because of all the audio lessons and the videos that come with the books, the full program is nearly half a gigabyte in size. Nevertheless, if you have to get something smaller due to your current living accommodations, a keyboard will suffice for basic learning purposes and practicing requirements. Your keyboard should have a row of white piano keys interrupted by alternating sets of three and two black keys. Instead of the fourth note being flat, the seventh note of every scale, used to determine the sharp key signature, will be a sharp note.
While some people are able to play the piano by ear (this means they can hear a song and can sit down and play it without knowing how to read a note of music), most people cannot do this. Between lessons, or if you are teaching yourself, you will want to practice as often as possible. While this tutorial is best suited for intermediate players, pianists of all skill levels can play along given a little time and sticktoitiveness.
Step by step you will expand what you learn and start to play Ballads, Blues, Jazz and all kinds of music.  This course is teaching both how to play by ear and how to read music and play.
If we learn how to play the piano, and if we start small and are faithful with that, we will also learn more piano techniques further on.
After you practice the chord progression various times, try to play it using different chord inversions. Your hands will start to get used to forming the chords, almost automatically, and your eyes will be able to visualize the chords rather quickly. If you get the music sheet for a song, such as a Beatles tune, then you will see letter names above the melody, all along the way throughout the tune. Instead they focus on letting someone listen to the words in the language, and understand the meaning as concepts.
This may seem backwards to some people, but it’s very much like learning how to speak before one learns how to read and write.
In this case, the Virtual Keyboard will become inactive until the next lesson module that requires a keyboard response. Depending on your instructor, the price may cost anywhere from $10 dollars to $30 or $40 per lesson, or even more. Therefore, reading sheet music becomes an integral part of learning to play the piano for beginners. Even seasoned piano players consistently improve and learn new techniques, so do not expect to learn everything right away. For more information, and to get started playing "Baby" on your own keyboard instrument, watch this how-to!
At the beginning, this may feel a bit tedious, but with frequent practice you will be able to visualize the chords all over the keyboard without even having to think about which notes make up each chord.
Get good at moving from one chord to another quickly, with ease, so that you can play the chords without faltering. After all, if someone is only going to read through the lesson plan one book at a time, then there’s no reason to have more than a single book open and reading at a given time.
These things take time and the learning will never end as you constantly strive to improve your sound, skill and ability.
I will tell everyone I know, who’s ever thought about playing piano or keys that this is the real deal and I hope if you use this testimonial that all who read it will believe me. Continue moving one white key over to get F, G, A, B, and you will find yourself back at C again.
