How can I learn to apply the notes on a sheet of music to a keyboard?Read: From the picture guide, find c1 in the middle of the keyboard. How can I get a quick understanding of the musical staff?Another aid to learning how to read keyboard music is understanding what the clef does. The bass clef is also referred to the F clef because the line between the two dots names the note on that line a€“ F. The full layout of the sounds guitar can make is: E, F, F#, G, G#, A, A#, B, C, C#, D, D# – each on a consecutive fret. For example, the empty E on the E1 string can also be found on the 5th fret of the B2 string, and on the 9th fret of the G3 string.
One of the main differences between notes and tabs is that notes don’t tell you exactly which position to use. Choosing the right position is not that challenging when you have to play a single note like you would during a solo, for example.
To be able to play naturally, you have to be able to jump to a given position quickly and without any error. When you master all this stuff we will talk about duration of different notes and other aspects of musical notation. If you need help learning the keyboard keys use this piano notes chart to help memorize the notes. When learning how to read guitar notes for beginners especially think about the musical alphabet. This is something that every guitarist needs to learn from the beginning or you will be lost when it comes to reading music.
You don’t want to get caught up with learning the chords and fretting BEFORE you learn how to read guitar music.
I now have a FREE PDF for you to download and use when starting out to learn how to read guitar music notes. It’s very simple and I want you to get this taken care of now before you move into more complex guitar tips, techniques and exercises.

Erich is the best I have come across at teaching what it really takes to become better at the lifelong skill of playing guitar. Whether you're new to playing or are just looking to build on what you already know, I promise the UGS is for you! Erich is a very approachable instructor and has one thing that he wants to accomplish thru this program and that is to make everyone a better guitar player. What's good about Erich's approach in the UGS is that the system is actually set up for you to learn at your own pace; a pace that you can digest.
Thanks to the UGS course I have greatly improved my dexterity and understanding of the guitar. I often get asked what the point of the Bass Clef is because its existence just seems to make life harder for no good reason!! Well, the reason we have the Bass Clef is simple – to make music easier to read by avoiding the use of too many ledger lines.
However, Middle C in the Bass Clef goes on a ledger line above the stave so there are loads of notes we can write below Middle C without having to use any ledger lines.
If you can learn how to read Treble and Bass Clef then you will make a huge leap forward as a musician.
If you give a tab to someone who plays a different instrument they won’t be able to do anything with it. But many guitarists find it hard to read guitar chords when they’re written in musical notation. This can take some time, but it’s good to start by using a piece of software like Guitar Pro. The rule would be to try to play by looking at the notes and only display the tabs when you’re stuck. You have to find your own way – one that works best for you, but let me just quickly share what I do.

If you’ve been playing guitar consciously for a number of years you’ve probably memorized all the notes along the way (as a by-product, so to speak).
All children can achieve basic music competence- that is the ability to sing in tune and keep a beat.
The purpose of this music game is to help beginner pianists learn how to read sheet music and remember the names for all the keys. If we were to use a Treble Clef (remember, Middle C in the Treble Clef goes on a ledger line below the stave as shown below) then we would have to use loads of ledger lines – this would make the music really difficult to read.
Also to express meter by rhythmically accurate movement and the ability to audiate. Can you hop like a bunny and bang on a drum?Research shows that children learn best from participation and modeling by their caregivers, regardless of  the caregivers musical ability. Look at the diagram above – this shows what is often referred to as the Grand Staff (the combination of Treble Clef and Bass Clef).
By learning Treble and Bass Clef you can see the huge range of notes that you will be able to read. Once I got used to this information I was able to pinpoint most of the notes on almost any position.
You are given the opportunity to take home what you have done in class and do it all week with your child.
