Elektrik Keys by DSK Music is an electric piano VST plugin with 2 layers of 13 waveforms each.
RhodeZ by DSK Music is a free Rhodes Rompler (sample-player) with 6 different Rhodes piano variations.
Big Blue Piano is a virtual electric piano similar in sound to the Fender Rhodes. At the moment it is extremely minimal, with no GUI based controls at all (other than the keyboard). UVI Instruments are well known and have been deeply used by professional musicians and producers for more than a decade thanks to some unique software like MOTU MachFive™, Ethno™ and BPM™, Spectrasonics Stylus™ and Atmosphere™, UVI Workstation™… to name a few.
UVI Electric Piano features the best of the UVI technology and the most efficient user interface to play an instrument: launch it and play ! Native Instruments Classic Keys Bundle could be considered classic in two senses: the first being that the three plug-ins included emulate classic hardware, and the second being that the plug-ins are sort of classics in their own rights. Elektrik Piano features four classic electric piano: Fender Rhodes MK I, MK II, Hohner Clavinet E7 and the Wurlitzer A 200. Each layer offers individual control of the volume, ADSR-envelope, spread, pitch, flanger, and delay. The VST plugin architecture is based on physical modeling synthesis, without the use of sample playback. The VST plug-in features an amplitude envelope, velocity response, tuning, filter, chorus, flanger, and a reverb (although not a very good one, so you might want to use a VST reverb instead).

For some reason Native Instruments decided to sample the sound of these electric pianos with various effects instead of providing the effects separately.
Fortunately I know the difference between a Rhodes and a Clavinet so I don’t have to ramble through the presets, and once loaded the sound is good.
Akoustik Piano emulates four pianos: BA¶sendorfer, Bechstein, Concert Grand D and Steingraeber. It includes a IR reverb (but can actually be set to be algorithmic to save horsepower) with four rooms: cathedral, concert hall, jazz club and recording studio. The sound is pretty good even considering todays standards but it is possible to find other VI:s that are up to par with- or even better than Akoustik Piano.
As opposed to the other two instruments in this review, the B4 doesn’t consist of gigabytes worth of samples.
Hardness of the attack and overdrive is then added to the signal together with the optional wah wah and tremolo. It features all the nuances and colorations of the Wurlitzer 200, such as the noise of the hammers, the noise of the dampers, certain inconsistences between a note and the next one. You managed to hit the nail upon the top as well as defined out the whole thing without having side effect , people can take a signal. It also includes a 3-band EQ as well as a couple of other options for the piano, including how you want to set the lid of the piano. My personal favorite among the pianos is the Steingraeber, to me it sounds very good in a blues and other styles like that. You can make it mumble, you can make it roar and you can make it scream like a demon from hell.

The sound of the LazySnake plug-in is very cool, especially if you spice it up with some reverb, and it is by far the best free all round VST emulation of electric pianos available! The Elektrik Keys plug-in has a very round and rich sound due to it's perfectly sampled waveforms. The MrTramp free VST plug-in is a very close emulation of the real deal with an truly impressive sound! This means that B4 doesn’t take all the space on your hard drive like Elektrik Piano and Akoustik Piano, it also means that the presets are quick to load. It is of course very flexible and have the drawbars, vibrato controls, Leslie and tube amp simulation (complete with virtual microphones), reverb and percussion controls… Well, you get the picture. Furthermore I find it annoying that Elektrik Pianos effects are sampled instead of supplying them separately along with the pianos multi-sampled clean.
If you feel like living on the edge and take a stroll down experimental lane then you’ll find that B4 has the possibility to accompany you. It’s still one of the best organ emulators on the market, just like when it was first released.
