It is ideal for teachers, students, parents, and members of the community who would like to accompany 'sing alongs.' The book does assume that the student can sing in tune, can read simple rhythm and notation, is familiar with the treble and bass clefs and the piano keyboard, and has a sense of humor and a desire to learn. The first part of the book introduces the student to basic triads and dominant seventh chords in all the inversions.

The book begins with an introduction to elementary note reading on the piano, then progresses to exercises and arrangements. The accompanying CD talks you through the exercises, providing additional instruction and help. Avoid disclosing contact information (email addresses, phone numbers, etc.), or including URLs, time-sensitive material or alternative ordering information. After mastering this concept, material such as Maj7th, min7th, diminished, augmented and suspended chords are introduced, followed by alternate bass note, addition of the 9th and common chord progressions.
To illustrate various arranging concepts, some tunes are shown in two ways - one simple, the other more detailed. This package also includes the companion 75-minute DVD which accompanies and teaches many of the concepts in the book. Regardless of skill level, the student will quickly be able to play an accompaniment by using only chord symbols.

A brief dictionary of musical terms and a basic piano chord encyclopedia are also included. All submitted reviews become the licensed property of Sheet Music Plus and are subject to all laws pertaining thereto.
When using this book as a lesson book it's very helpful to refer to the appendix section while chords are being learned. If you believe that any review contained on our site infringes upon your copyright, please email us.
