Performing instant recovery (File system)
Before performing instant recovery of a File system backup:
The DS-Client service account must be run under a local administrator account and have write access to the instant recovery vault.
You must provide simple access to a share that is immediately accessible on your network.
For Windows DS-Clients, special file system items (System State and Services Database) are not supported for instant recovery.
For Linux DS-Clients, hard links and soft (or symbolic) links are not supported for instant recovery.
NOTE:  When performing an instant recovery of a Windows File system backup, symbolic links are restored as files.
To perform instant recovery of a File system backup:
1. Click the Backup Sets tab.
2. Select the backup you want to instantly recover.
3. On the Restore menu, click Instant Recovery.
4. Select a backup session, and then click Next.
