Monitoring the status of an initial backup
You can view the status of each backup that has been configured for initial backup. Backup sets are displayed only before their initial backup data has been successfully imported into the DS-System.
NOTE: Scheduled and on-demand backups of initial backups are not allowed until after the initial backup data has been successfully imported into DS‑System.
When the status of all the backups sharing the same initial backup buffer is completed, you can place the data in the initial backup buffer onto a physical media and ship the physical media to your service provider.
NOTE: If data on multiple initial backup buffers needs to placed onto the same physical media, ensure that the data from each initial backup buffer is placed in a separate clearly labeled folder.
To monitor the status of an initial backup:
1. On Initial Backup menu, click Status.
2. To change the status of an initial backup to completed, select the backup and then click Mark Completed.
NOTE: You might want to do this if some backup data is in the buffer. For example, if the initial backup was interrupted.
3. To change the status of an initial backup to incomplete, select the backup and then click Mark Incomplete.
NOTE: You might want to do this to change the initial backup path or run another backup.
4. To update the list, click Refresh.
5. Click Close.
