Configuring users and groups
You can configure the maximum online limits for specific users or an entire group of users. The lowest group limit applies to individual users.
NOTE: Backups will stop when the online limit has been reached. If more than one limit applies, the lower limit will be enforced.
To configure users and groups:
1. On the Setup menu, click Users & Groups.
2. To view information about a user or group, select the user or group, and then click Show Users or Show Groups.
3. To set a maximum online amount for a user or group, select the user or group, and then do the following:
a) Click Max Online.
b) Clear the No Limit check box. If this check box is enabled, the user or group will have unlimited online storage capacity.
c) In the Online storage limit box, enter the maximum amount you want to assign to the user or group.
d) Click OK.
NOTE: The online limit is tracked during backups by taking the current online amount and adding new backups. When the online limit is reached, the backup stops even if it is not completed. If two backups are scheduled concurrently, DS-Client allows both backups to use the remaining online amount, which means it is possible for the online storage to exceed the maximum online limit.
4. To delete a user or group, select the user of group, and then click Delete.
NOTE: You cannot delete a user or group who has active backups. If a deleted user logs back on to the DS-Client, they will be added back to the list.
5. Click Close.
