• To modify a connection, select the connection, and then click Modify.
NOTE: To delete a connection, select the connection, and then click Delete.
4. Under DS-System connection entry, do the following:

b) To assign a DS-System as the primary connection, select the Primary check box.
NOTE: There can only be one primary connection. All other connection entries are considered alternate connection to be used only if the primary connection fails. The DS-Client returns to the primary connection based on the RetryPrimary advanced configuration parameter.
c) To enter a command to run on the DS-Client computer before it connects to the DS-System, select the Pre-Command check box, and then enter the command. To test the command, click Test.
d) To enter a command to run on the DS-Client computer after it disconnects from the DS-System, select the Post-Command check box, and then enter the command. To test the command, click Test.
e) To consider a connection failed if an exit code is returned from the pre-command, select the Consider connection failed if pre-exitcode check box, and then enter the exit code.

5. To test a connection, select the connection, and then click Test Connection.
6. To configure the DS-Client to use a proxy server to access the Internet when connecting to Management Console, DS-NOC or a cloud site, do the following:
a) Under Internet Connection Setup, click Proxy Server.
b) Under Proxy Server Settings, select one of the following options:
• No proxy – DS-Client automatically selects the protocol (HTTP or HTTPS) based on the address provided by the DS-System. IMAP is used for email server backups.
• Auto-detect proxy settings for this network – DS-Client automatically detects the proxy server.
• Manual proxy configuration – Manually enter the proxy server address for the HTTP, HTTPS, and IMAP protocols. To use a single proxy server for all protocols, select the Use the same proxy server for all protocols check box. The standard ports used are 80 for HTTP, 443 for HTTPS, and 143 for IMAP.
• Automatic proxy configuration URL – Type a URL to a PAC (Proxy Auto Configure) file that is accessible to the DS-Client. The DS-Client obtains the proxy server address and port number from this file. Type the full URL starting with “http://”.
NOTE: With the exception of the No proxy option, if the DS-Client fails to find the correct proxy server, it will try to connect directly. The HTTP or HTTPS protocol will be automatically selected based on the address provided by the DS-System. For cloud site connections, the protocol (HTTP/HTTPS/IMAP) will be selected automatically as required.
c) If the proxy server requires authentication, select the Server requires authentication check box, and then type the user name and password.
d) Click OK.
