VMware VADP backup set uses the native VMware API (vStorage API for Data Protection) when DS-Client performs backup and restore of the target virtual machines.

DS-Client allows you to select a VDDK library version that supports the version of vSphere that you are using and the version of ESXi from which you want to back up virtual machines. As you create a VMware VADP backup set, make sure that you select the appropriate VDDK library version.
