Selecting DS-Client(s) for a global report
Global reports require a list of DS-Clients and credentials so that the Java DS-User can connect and generate the reports.
Remember that this section (under the Global Reports sub-menu) applies only to the current Java DS-User installation from which you are working.
A DS-Client field appears at the top of each Global Report print screen.
F1 Help: "Print Global Report - Export Backup Sets Information"
1. Click [...].
The Select DS-Clients screen appears.
F1 Help: "Select DS-Client (Print Global Report)"
2. From this screen, create the list of DS-Clients whose reports you want to generate.
You can add DS-Clients to the list individually or together as a group using the Autosearch feature. You must specify at least one DS-Client (otherwise, no report can be generated).
To add DS-Clients individually
a) Click Add / Modify.
The New / Modify DS-Client Connection Entry screen appears.
F1 Help: "Add / Modify DS-Client Connection Entry (Print Global Report)"
b) When you enter the IP address of the target DS-Client computer, press TAB or highlight a different field.
c) Provide valid credentials to this DS-Client.
NOTE:  You must provide valid credentials to this DS-Client. These must be administrator equivalent if you want to view Reports for all users and groups.
Java DS-User attempts to connect to the DS-Client at that IP address. If successful, the drop-down list is activated beside the From field (with the available servers where the credentials can be verified).
To add using the Autosearch feature
a) Click Auto Search.
Java DS-User scans the network, and the DS-Clients Auto Search screen appears with the visible DS-Clients.
F1 Help: "DS-Clients Auto Search (Print Global Report)"
b) To add multiple DS-Clients, hold down the CTRL key while clicking.
c) When you have finished making your selections, click Add Selected.
The DS-Client Connection Entry screen appears.
d) Enter a user name and password that is valid on all of the selected DS-Clients, and click OK.
NOTE:  You must enter a user name and password that is valid on all of the selected DS-Clients. If you do not have common credentials (with sufficient permissions), you must specify each DS-Client individually.
The Select DS-Clients screen returns with the added connection entries.
You can save the connection entries you have listed, but they will be retrievable only from the current Java DS-User installation. (The computer / IP / credentials are saved to the local user.ini file in encrypted format.)
3. To save or load credentials, click the corresponding button. Enter the key to lock or unlock the credentials and click OK.
If loading, the Select DS-Clients screen returns with the saved connection entries.
F1 Help: "Enter Lock Key For Credentials (Print Global Report)"
NOTE:  You can only save one set of DS-Client Connection Entries. If you click Save again, whatever is in the Select DS-Clients screen at that time will overwrite any saved credentials.
4. After you have finished the list of DS-Clients, click OK.
The Global Report Print screen returns with the selected DS-Clients in the corresponding field.
5. Select the required reports, and click OK to generate the reports.
