Local-only backup sets
Local-Only backup sets must be enabled by your service provider from DS-System. These are the same as Self-Contained backup sets but without the restrictions on the number of sets or capacity. Local-Only backup sets have the following features and limitations:
• Platforms: DS-Client running on Windows / Linux / Mac
• Data is stored locally at customer site (local disk or UNC path)
• Data stored is compressed; however, no master/delta processing is applied.
• The total amount of Local-Only storage is allocated from DS-System in GB. You can verify the allocated amount under DS-Client Local-Only Storage Quota in the View Quotas screen: click Setup > View Quotas.
IMPORTANT: There must be enough capacity available in the Local Storage Path to accommodate the total amount of Local-Only capacity licensed.
IMPORTANT: Before creating a Self-Contained backup set, configure the Local Storage Path: Click Setup > Configuration > Parameters. Click >> beside Local Storage Path to browse and select the required path. Backup data for Local-Only backup sets will be stored at this location.
To create a local-only backup set
1. Configure the backup set in the New Backup Set Wizard.
In the last screen of this wizard, which is Choose the name for this backup set, you can select the backup set type.
2. In the Set Type list, select Local-Only.
3. Click Finish.
