Generating a Virtual Summary report
Use this tool to scan the virtual machines in a VMware vCenter Server or Microsoft Hyper-V host on your LAN. It generates a list of the virtual machines available for backup.
1. Tools > LAN Storage Discovery > Virtual Summary Report:
The Virtual Machines Summary screen appears.

2. Depending on what you want to scan, do one of the following:
To scan a VMware vCenter Server:
a) From the VM Type drop down list, select VMware.
b) In the vCenter field, enter the IP address of the vCenter Server that you want to scan.
c) In the User Name and Password fields, enter the credentials of a user with sufficient privileges on the vCenter Server to list all its virtual machines.
d) Click Discover Machines to scan the vCenter Server.
To scan a Hyper-V host (from a Windows DS-Client):
a) From the VM Type drop down list, select Hyper-V.
b) In the Host field, enter the IP address of the Hyper-V host you want to scan.
c) In the User Name and Password fields, enter the credentials of a user with sufficient privileges on the Hyper-V host to list all its virtual machines.
d) Click Discover Machines to scan the Hyper-V host.
The Virtual Machines List is populated with the virtual machines discovered by the scan.
3. To select virtual machines that you want to scan for more detailed machine information, click Select All or use CTRL+SHIFT+ mouse-click.
The Virtual Machines Properties List section will show extended details of each selected machine.
4. To sort the information from the Virtual Machines Properties List, click Virtual Access Report.
The Virtual Machines Summary screen appears.

5. To select time intervals to use for sorting the report information, click New Report.
